For the ex-Guns N’Roses guitarist Slash, the time stays still - he always looks the same! After being involved with some other bands he invited many known vocalists to record a solo album. Slash co-wrote almost all of the songs together with his guests.The self-titled album was released in 2010 and featured many known rock vocalists and some surprising choices. One of them is Fergie (Black Eyed Peas). Beautiful Dangerous is the 3rd single from this album and totally rock! Who would have though Fergies has it in her!?

Rolling in the Deep by Adele. For me, Adele has one of the most capitvating and recognizable voices I heard. Yesterday, her second album “21” was released in the UK. It’s a bit different that the fir one (called “19”) but there are some reall good song too! I love the addition of the gospel choir and the foot-stomping beat.

Heard this song, Everywhere I Go by Lissie, in the Dollhouse finale. It was a powerful moment and the song is breathtaking! Her full name is Elisabeth Maurus and she’s an American folk rock singer, Paste Magazine called her the best new solo act of 2010.

5678 by Fake Problems is my most played tune for like a month now. It’s a great way to start your day. The band consists of 4 friends that knew eachother for a long time. Jessie J (real name: Jessie Cornish) is going to be big! 2011 is going to be another year, when a person from behind of the curtains will step forward and take the spotlight. Last year it was Bruno Mars, this year it will be Jessie J. She wrote songs for people like Christina Aguilera, Chris Brown and Justin Timberlake. The latter says she the best singer in the world right now. Her debut album, Who You Are, will drop on 14th March 2011. This is the title song - Who You Are. First single of Mt. Desolation - Bitter Pill. Mt. Desolation is an alternative rock/country band from England that was created as a side project of two Keane bandmembers - Tim Rice-Oxley and Jesse Quin. They’re backed up by other famous musicians. Their self titled CD came out not so long ago and it’s pretty good. It’s easy to listen, full of melodies, you will hear a lot of piano ang guitar there. If you’re not a country fan, don’t worry, there’s no “twang”. Tim Rice-Oxley, that’s plays piano and sings back-ups for Keane is a really good frontman and his vocals are great. Plus, I like the fact, that you can hear a female sing too (in a duet or back up vocals) on the album - Jessica Staveley-Taylor, she’s also a part of the live band.

I added StreamPad on the bottom of the site. If you want to listen to the songs I uploaded without clicking the “play” button on each post you can now! The one thing that bugs me about the StreamPad is that it shows neither artist’s name nor the title of the song that’s currently played. I started writing my first album review, but I’m taking my time ;) I’m going to do the album reviews in 2 categories: my own “Hall of fame” and other really good but not perfect albums. The review I’m writing is for the “Hall of fame” and it’s the debut album of my favorite band… which you probably never heard of LOL
Also thinking of compiling some fun upbeat songs that can be used for New Year’s parties. One post with 10-16 songs and itunes links to buy them and a youtube video with snippets. If you’re in need of some party music check my blog few days before New Year’s Eve.

Dilana Robichaux (that’s her full name) was born is South Africa where whe started to make a name for herself. She came to USA to pursue her music career and entered a reality singing competition Rock Star Supernova in which a supegroup consisting of Tommy Lee (Motley Crue), Jason Newsted (Voivod, Metallica) and Gilby Clark (Guns N’Roses) were searching for their new lead singer. Dilana didn’t win, she was the runner up - although personally she should have won! You can check the clips from the show on youtube. Anyway, she’s doing fine or her own. After a struggle with record labels she released her new album with this song - Holiday - on it. It reflects her feelings after losing the competition. Dilana Rocks!
